It was time to take Pa Dairo from his residence to church to pay his last respect to almighty God. His children, their spouses, grandchildren and great grandchildren dressed up in Yoruba traditional regalia, specifically, “Alaari”. Alaari is a type of aso-oke that takes its origin from Osun state, Nigeria. Alaari in Yoruba land is said to be the father of all clothes. What else suits a king if not Alaari.
Papa’s casket was driven in a Black Cadillac Escalade. With dancing and singing, Papa’s casket made its way to the Anglican Church Odode-Idanre.
After church service, Pa Dairo was taken to his residence where he was laid to rest. Dust unto dust, ashes unto ashes.
